Creating Your HTML Pages
We have a few basic recommendations.
- 1) Create and maintain your site on your local computer exactly as you
wish it to appear on your web site. The sub-directory structure is
particularly important.
- Example; Make a directory c:\mysite.
- 2) Make sub-directories c:\mysite\images, c:\mysite\cgi-bin, etc.
- 3) Put your index.html document in the c:\mysite directory. In that
document, be sure to refer to all images as" imageswhatever.gif"
NOTE; When referring to sub directories, be sure to use front slashes -> NOT backslashes -. \ !! Otherwise, when you upload your files to the server your links will not work correctly!
The easiest way {aside of hiring us!} to create HTML files is to use an HTML page editor!
